Reflections Program SHOWCASE!

All are welcome to join us at the Reflections Arts Program Showcase! The showcase will be held at the Walnut Creek Intermediate School Library on Saturday, December 7 from 11am – 2pm. Join us to enjoy student artwork from 14 schools in our area...and snacks too!

We are so proud of the LP students who submitted artwork to this year's Reflections program. We received 32 entries...more than any other school in the area! Students who advance to higher levels of competition will be announced in December on this website, in Paw Prints, and notified through their parent/caregiver email address. Stay tuned!

The National PTA has a long-standing commitment to arts education. The Reflections program provides opportunities for recognition and access to the arts, boosting student confidence and success in the arts and in life. This 50+ year-old program helps students explore their own thoughts, feelings and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful in school and in life. Each year, over 300,000 students in Pre-K through Grade 12 nationwide create original works of art in response to a student-selected theme.

This year's student-selected theme is "Accepting Imperfection." Students could enter from one to all six categories of arts disciplines: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, and Visual Arts. Visit the California Parent Teacher Association (CAPTA) website for a glimpse of the art produced by last year's winners and specific requirements and rules.
